The maximum amount of groundwater that can
be pumped from the Castle Hayne Aquifer for
all purposes under PCS’ permit is 78 million
gallons per day (mgd). Eagle Water’s
contract with PCS and Eagle Water’s permit
with North Carolina allows it to market 58
MGD. PCS has reserved the remaining 20 mgd
for plant operations.
